The Government of Canada has implemented the interim Canada Dental Benefit, which is designed to provide some financial support to help families access dental care. If you have children under the age of 12, you may be eligible to receive this benefit. Click on the link for more information!

Education must be a key priority in the provincial general election, which is scheduled to take place on October 3rd, 2023. Lawn signs, similar to the above photo, will be available this week for pick up at your local school or the MVSD Admin Office. Mountain View School Division will be acknowledging and honouring September 30th as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.  This day is to recognize and commemorate the legacy of residential schools. As September 30th falls on a Saturday, schools may be hosting events and activities on Friday, September 29th. In honour of School Support Staff Recognition Week (Sep. 25-29, 2023), as proclaimed by the Minister of Education, a sincere "thank you" is extended to all support staff in MVSD for the valuable work they do in our schools and in supporting the education of our students!

Free Wi-Fi is offered once again in every MVSD community for students who are engaging in online learning! The service is available Mon-Fri from 8 am - 8 pm. Click on the link for hotspot locations.

Manitoba Public Health will be offering a vaccination clinic for students, ages 5-11, on March 16th at Lt. Colonel Barker V.C. School from 9:30am - 11:00am. Please note that ONLY students that have an authorized consent form submitted to Barker School Office, from their parent/legal guardian, will be provided the vaccination - 1st or 2nd doses for students, age 5-11, will be available at this clinic. Links to the consent forms can be found in the attached letter. Please complete the attached consent form by clicking on the link below, and submit the consent form to the main office. If you need a hard copy of the form, please contact the school to make arrangements. Unfortunately at this time, due to Covid-19 safety protocols in place, parents are not able to come into school during the vaccination clinic. Please contact the school office if you have any questions.
