May 21, 2021: Until further notice, the play structures at MVSD schools are intended for school use during regular school hours only, and will not be for community use at any time. MVSD staff will be placing signage at playground sites.

On May 21, 2021, Manitoba Public Health officials advised Lt. Col. Barker V.C. School of at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 in the school on May 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th and 17th. As our communities and school division emerge from the challenges of COVID-19, MVSD is looking forward to planning for the 2021-2022 school year. We ask parents/guardians and community members to help us in our planning by completing our survey by Friday, May 7th. A separate survey will be available for students. The Manitoba COVID-19 Dashboard has reported cases involving individuals belonging to Lt. Colonel Barker V.C. School and MacKenzie Middle School. These cases did not result in any close contacts being identified and no notification to the school community was provided by Public Health.
